Martin Roberts broke down on the Big Celebrity Detox on Thursday night when Chloe Veitch claimed to be his late mother.
The Homes Under the Hammer host, 59, stated on the new E4 weight loss programme that his father died in March 2023, leaving him without both parents.
Martin sobbed in the middle of a therapy session in which model and Too Hot to Handle actress Chloe represented Martin’s mother.
When the property expert began sobbing, Chloe, 24, acted out a possible conversation between Martin, represented by Love Island‘s Toby Aromolaran, 24, and his mother.
Kerry Katona, 42, rushed to comfort Martin; the TV personality and former pop singer remained with Martin till he calmed down.
Martin’s mother died at the age of 46 after a protracted illness due to a stroke, and he acknowledged that he felt he hadn’t been there for her enough.
‘You know what I feel guilty about, it was really hard to come back and support like I should have done,’ he confessed to his Detox campmates.
Speaking to his mum through the camera, he continued: ‘Because it was so painful because you were still my mum, but you weren’t, because you’d changed.’
‘I have obviously been fairly wracked with guilt without even realising it about the fact that I probably didn’t go back to see her and support her.’
Martin has had an emotional moment on the Big Celebrity Detox before, despite just four episodes having aired so far.
Martin’s throat tightened as he tried to undress during an intimate sequence in which he was urged to study and admire his own physique.
He also claimed before the show aired that he’s*** himself’ and drank his own pee while going through the show’s tough detox course.
Martin admitted at the time: ‘I think [the producers] did this as a shock factor to get people to watch the series – we had to drink our own urine.’
