Every year, millions of spectators tune in to see celebrities transform into dancers on Strictly Come Dancing, but one guy has never joined in on the fun – Bobby Brazier.
The 20-year-old has openly said that he isn’t a huge fan of the show, having never seen an episode.
‘My first experience of Strictly is being on Strictly,’ he said on This Morning.
Rather than being insulted, his partner Dianne Buswell, who has been a member of the BBC programme since 2017, appreciates the fact that he has no preconceived notions.
Dianne, 34, said how his avoidance has affected their rehearsals: ‘Every every time I mention a dance, he’s like, “I’ve never heard of it.” It’s fantastic since he’s starting from zero and has no negative habits’.
Dianne and Bobby, who will play together for the first time on Saturday night, are still in their early stages.
‘He only knows one style at the moment. But I think that style is what he will be best at,’ said Dianne.
Luckily, he’s got talent already: ‘Bobby has a natural groove to him and great charisma.’
Despite never having watched an episode, Bobby has quickly learnt one thing – ‘It’s hard work’.
The EastEnders star also confessed that he ‘begged’ his boss to let him participate in Strictly, and his perseverance has paid off, as he has already stated that the debut event was the most entertaining experience of his life.
Later in the conversation, Bobby remained evasive about the fact that he is the betting favourite to win.
‘We haven’t even started yet,’ he stated. ‘We’re taking it one step at a time,’ Dianne added.
Bobby attributes some of those milestones to his father, Jeff Brazier: ‘My father is a great mover! ‘Do you believe you know where I got the caterpillar?’ He laughed.
Bobby, the late Jade Goody’s son, is already full of confidence and has made a cheeky move on a past contestant’s girlfriend.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1. Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday September 23 at 6:35pm on BBC One.
