When he said he intended to appear naked for his audition, a Japanese comedian took the judges of Britain’s Got Talent off guard.
Tonikaku Akarui Yasumura presented himself to the audience on the talent show episode that aired on Saturday night by entering the stage while wearing a bathrobe.
He started a discussion with Alesha Dixon about how much he “loved tea” and then revealed that he had travelled to another continent in order to fulfil his ambition of performing for the Royal Family.
However, as Tonikaku began to untie his robe, things suddenly changed. Bruno Tonioli began to scream “no, no, no,” and Alesha grabbed a piece of paper in front of her face.
As music started playing he started amping the audience up and made sure to let everyone know he was ‘wearing pants’, pointing to his underwear.
‘But I can pose naked,’ he added.

Alesha began shaking her head and gave him the side-eye, warning him not to, but he persisted and declared his first “naked pose.”
After a little dance, the music stopped, and Tonikaku retained his posture with his left leg bent in the air to conceal his pants and give the impression that he was actually starkers on stage.
The judges and spectators caught on at this point and couldn’t get enough.
He once more pointed to his trousers and added, “Don’t worry, I’m wearing.”
He next demonstrated a James Bond and a “horse racing” nude posture before concluding with a Spice Girls pose.
Every time, he made sure to point out that, if only partially, he was dressed.
Tonikaku’s audition was a huge success, receiving a standing ovation from everyone at the London Palladium.
‘You might be my favourite contestant of the series so far,’ Alesha said.
Bruno joked that Tonikaku ‘definitely had balls’.
Amanda added: ‘Tony you are absolutely unique and it felt absolutely Britain’s Got Talent. I loved it.’
However, Simon seemed to be the comedian’s biggest admirer, calling him “honestly the funniest contestant we’ve had on all year.”
‘[You are] really, really funny and original…you are unbelievable and you are brilliant. I absolutely love you.’
After receiving four yes’ from the judges, Tonikaku is through to the next round.
Britain’s Got Talent continues on Sunday at 8pm on ITV.
