Call Me Kat has said farewell to cast member Leslie Jordan, and the farewell has left fans in tears.
The Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian died in a car crash in October at the age of 67 after suffering a medical emergency behind the wheel.
Jordan has been a frequent cast member on the show since its first season, playing Phil, the head baker at Kat’s (Mayim Bialik) café.
Jordan had finished nine episodes of the third season before his death.
The tenth episode, titled Call Me Philliam, aired on Friday night and paid respect to both the character and Jordan by breaking the fourth wall.
With Phil having to be written out of the programme, the comedian elected to go with the plot that he had decided to stay in Tahiti after going on vacation with his companion Jalen (John Griffin).

Instead of returning home, they had opted to marry and operate a bakery there.
The characters all attended the celebrations off camera, but later in the show, the group gathered around a laptop to relive it all, chatting about how much they would miss Phil, which clearly felt like they were also talking about Jordan.
At the end of the scenario, a chair with Jordan’s name was brought out, and a sequined suit jacket was put over it.

Bialik, Cheyenne Jackson, Kyla Pratt, Julian Gant, and Swoosie Kurtz all gathered around the chair and looked into the camera, before Bialik said: ‘What we’ve done here is we’ve given Phil a happy ending.’
‘What we’re really doing is mourning the loss of our dear friend, Leslie Jordan. He is irreplaceable. We will miss him very much. Love, light, Leslie.’
Fans watching along at home said the scene was the perfect send off, and had left many in tears.
‘I was not ready for the Leslie Jordan tribute at the end of this week’s Call Me Kat episode. When they brought in his set chair I lost it! What an incredible human being. I think we all hope to leave this world better than we found it. He sure did,’ one person wrote.
Another added it left them ‘weeping.’

Remaining on screen the cast were visibly emotional and the scene then cut to Dolly Parton, who sang some lines from the gospel song Where The Soul Never Dies’
She added: ‘I know, usually, at a memorial, people talk about somebody, but I’m going to talk to you because there is that place on the other side, and I’m certainly going to see you there, little brother. You left a lot of people here with a lot of precious, precious memories.
‘Everybody loved you, but I doubt many of them loved you more than I did. Anyhow, I just wanted you to know that we all love you, we all miss you, and I bet you’re having a big laugh over all of us being sad and sorrowful, and I know that would be the last thing you would want us to be.
A montage of some of Phil’s most notable moments on the show then played.
Previously speaking to Deadline about the decision to say goodbye on screen in the way they did, Bialik said they didn’t want to do a funeral episode while grieving their friend, so ‘found a way for him to live forever.’
‘His character will live forever, and he can have whatever adventures we all imagine.’
Call Me Kat airs on Fox in the US.
