Call The Midwife suffered a real life health scare when a baby was rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill on set.
Three ambulances reportedly headed to the set of the BBC drama to take the child to hospital after panicked people quickly phoned 999.
According to The Sun, a source said: ‘It was very distressing. The child was very ill.’
It’s said the baby was taken straight to hospital, with residents living nearby to Longcross Film Studios – where the fictional Nonnatus House is based – describing the scary scenes.
One person added: ‘I saw three ambulances whizz past. I was shocked. It looked like something you’d see on a TV show but it was obviously a real incident being taken incredibly seriously.’
According to the report, the baby is recovering at home after being discharged from hospital.

Filming on the upcoming 12th season was halted due to the medical emergency.
Last year, it was revealed the period drama had been renewed for a 12th and 13th season, set to be broadcast in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
At the time, the show’s creator Heidi Thomas commented: ‘It’s an incredible privilege to be able to look back on a decade of Call The Midwife, and yet know that our journey is still very far from over.

‘We are thrilled to be going on for a few more years! Like Nonnatus House itself, we have a proud past but an even more exciting future – full of old favourites, fresh faces, higher hemlines, new ideas.
‘The stories we tell are like babies – they never stop coming, we love them all, and we vow to do our best by every single one.’
Filming began on Call The Midwife series 12 earlier this year, much to fans’ delight.
One person who’s remained pretty much consistent in Nonnatus House is nurse Trixie Franklin (Helen George), who is a firm favourite of viewers, although she made an exit in series 11 to go and care for her sick godmother in Italy – which coincided with the actress having her second baby.
But Helen has since confirmed she would be making her return in upcoming episodes as the cast shared pictures from filming.
Call The Midwife returns later this year on BBC One.
