Carol Vorderman suffered many hardships and tribulations during her second round of I’m a Celebrity before nearly missing out on the final, but she reveals one nightmare that never aired.
Carol was sitting on the toilet on a fairly routine day in camp at the South Africa all-stars version of the show when she noticed a condom on the floor.
The 62-year-old told the incident during an interview on Loose Women.
‘This is what happened that you didn’t see on the program,’ Carol teased.
‘I was always up early with Fatima [Whitbread] and I’d wandered into this filthy toilet. It was disgusting. I’m sitting on the toilet in dim light, and I look at the floor. There’s a used condom.’
Carol then proceeded to alert the Bush Telegraph’s producers about the sighting, who informed her she was being ‘daft.’
They told Carol to go get it, but she didn’t feel like lifting it up!
Carol was concerned whether or not to confront her other campmates about her finding when she returned to camp.
The condom turned out to be rather benign, and it had not been ‘used’ in the stereotypical way.
Carol explains: ‘I didn’t say anything, and then she [Gillian McKeith] brought it up. She’d obviously been nibbling her almonds in there or something, and everyone said: “You didn’t think it was us?”.’
Gillian, 63, hid everything but the kitchen sink inside a pair of enormous padded panties and sea salt inside a condom!
Her stash comprised a herb shaker (in a toilet paper tube, of course), five bags of Japanese miso soup powder, cumin powder, celery powder, and garlic powder.
Another camp mystery answered!
The only persons left in the pre-recorded reality programme are Myleene Klass, Jordan Banjo, and Fatima Whitbread.
Carol left with Paul Burrell after they failed to pass the survival trial, Vile Vineyard.
When hosts Ant and Dec asked about her experience on the ITV show, Carol said: ‘It’s very different, because people have done it before so they’re more savvy about it. We’ll go back to a hotel and have champagne and lobster.’
