Carol Vorderman is ready to join the Drag Race family after being confirmed as one of the season’s guest stars.
The fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is scheduled to premiere shortly, and fans have been teased with the announcement of prominent faces who will appear as guests on the programme.
The local version of the series, which debuted in 2019, has made Queens such as The Vivienne, Bimini Bon Boulash, and Cheryl Hole household names.
While it will soon be time for the next group to walk to the runway, until then, the list of prominent names who have signed up to appear have been ‘Ru-vealed’.
Throughout the season, nine guest judges will assist Drag Icon and judging supremo, RuPaul Charles, in determining who will be granted the coveted title of UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar.
Each week, the queens face challenges that put their drag skills to the test, and while the final decision is made by Mama Ru and Ru’s Drag Race UK besties, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton, a slew of celebrity super fans join in on the fun and help decide the queens’ fate.
Aisling Bea, Alexandra Burke, Cush Jumbo, Daphne Guinness, Joel Dommett, Kristen McMenamy, Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Suranne Jones, and Yasmin Finney will be this year’s celebrity judges.
There will also be a slew of famous cameos, including ultimate hunk Carol.
This season, she’ll be joining Alexandra Burke in bringing their finest Blankety Blanks for the infamous Snatch Game.
‘I’ve been excited about this from the moment I was asked, and it didn’t disappoint,’ Carol said.
‘[It was] Such fun to be a part of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and the iconic Snatch Game.
‘All of the impressions were hilarious, clever and brilliant – it was a joy to play!’
Fashion royalty Edward Enninful OBE is also scheduled to visit the Werk Room with Ru and provide sartorial guidance to the queens ahead of the historic design competition.
Karen Hauer, the much-loved Strictly Come Dancing judge, will also contribute her superb choreography and teaching talents to aid the queens take on the formidable Rusical task.
Claudimar Neto, celebrity choreographer, will lead the finalists in an all-singing, all-dancing piece for the Finale Eleganza Extravaganza.
Carol has been staying busy recently, as the Countdown star was awarded with a spot in Vogue 25 this week.
The publication’s yearly list honours “the women defining – and redefining – Britain in 2023.”
Carol joked that she didn’t know how she managed to’slip in’ while excitedly proclaiming the news while flipping through the pages of the magazine.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will air on BBC later this year.
