Channel 4 has cancelled Naked, Alone, and Racing To Get Home, after the cancellation of The Big Interiors Battle, Big Narstie Show, and Steph’s Packed Lunch.
The unconventional programme challenged candidates to strip nude and walk across the nation for three days.
With no phones, money, or clothes, the two teams had three days to race each other while foraging for food and shelter and finding resources to keep warm.
The winning couple received £5,000, which seems a bit modest in comparison to what they have to face, but most importantly, they got their clothing returned!
After only one season, which lasted six episodes on E4, it is concluded, so don’t rush out to fill out an application form!
A spokesperson for the broadcaster confirmed the cancellation and provided the statement: ‘Channel 4, like all broadcasters, makes decisions in the natural cycle of programming about which shows to rest, return, or conclude to ensure we always innovate and offer viewers the best range of content.’
Jenny, who participated in the survival series with her partner Steve, stated that she didn’t mind being naked towards the end.
‘I just didn’t care, I wanted to go home, I would have done anything by that point,’ she said during an episode of Lorraine.
Jenny became engaged to Steve when he got down on one knee and proposed during the challenge, in one of the series’ most memorable moments.
Before dropping down on one knee he said: ‘I had a plan in place that I was going to do something you would remember for the rest of your life.
‘I’ve got a surprise for you, you’re going to hate this now. Will you marry me?’
‘Yes!,’ was Jenny’s response to which her partner exclaimed: ‘You weren’t expecting that were you?’
The shocked contestant said through teary eyes: ‘We don’t need to win, I’ve just won.’
Embarrassing Bodies, which returned in 2022 after a seven-year hiatus, will also be cancelled.
Dr Jane, Dr Tosin, and Dr Anand assisted individuals in resolving medical issues and attempted to de-stigmatize ailments that often go unnoticed or neglected.
Channel 4 said: ‘There are currently no immediate plans for Embarrassing Bodies to return to linear TV next year.’
According to the Mail on Sunday, Channel 4 employees are calling the present axes a “bloodbath.” Scared Of The Dark, Rescue: Extreme Medics, and The Big Blow Out have all been cancelled as well.
Naked, Alone, and Racing to Get Home and Embarassing Bodies are available to watch on Channel 4.
