Chloe Bailey’s appearance in Swarm has been largely overshadowed by her explicit sex scene with Damson Idris, causing her to feel fatigued by the attention.
The talented singer, who performed the hit song “Do It,” was part of a star-studded ensemble that included Billie Eilish, Rory Culkin, and Dominique Fishback, who delivered an outstanding performance as Dre, a young woman whose obsession with a pop superstar takes a dark turn.
However, the first episode’s opening moments, which featured a graphic sex scene between 24-year-old Chloe and 31-year-old Snowfall actor Damson, shocked many viewers, with some deeming it “too real” and “completely unnecessary.”
Chloe has since responded to the mounting criticism, expressing little concern about the backlash.
‘I’m an actress and I feel like it’s about art,’ Chloe stated.
Chatting to Big Boi on Big Boi’s Neighbourhood, she added: ‘When I first received the script, I was just like [gasp]! It was just insane and gorgeous and I think people are forgetting the plot of that scene.
‘It’s not about seeing me in the mirror of that scene. But I think because it’s me doing it, that’s what kinda makes it blow out of proportion. But I’m barely seen for two seconds in that.’

When asked if Damson received the same kind of outrage, Chloe replied with a smile: ‘I don’t think so because he’s a man.’
Defending herself, she continued: ‘I was just doing my job and people got to remember that I’m an adult and I’m an artist and nothing was seen that they haven’t seen from me. They didn’t see nipple, you didn’t see “there”.’
Big Boi then quipped: ‘It’s on Prime isn’t it? I was like, dude, is it on Prime or is it on PornHub?’ adding that he had to rewatch the scene a few times to see what the fuss was all about.
Chloe isn’t the only one who has gone viral as a result of Swarm; her co-star Rory’s full-frontal naked scene has generated quite a fuss – and has changed the way everyone looks at fruit bowls.
Swarm is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
