Chrishell Stause has spoken out about her first time sharing the screen with G Flip on Selling Sunset, revealing the ground rules they established before production began.
The Be Your Man singer, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, and the 41-year-old began dating last year and have been inseparable since.
So it’s only logical that the real estate broker would want to give Netflix fans a look inside her relationship with the 29-year-old, with whom she just married in Las Vegas, during season six.
Speaking at the launch of her new Lipsy collection, the LA Edit, the former actress revealed what prompted her choice and how co-star Emma Hernan, with whom she collaborated on her new brand, was essential in her decision.
‘Emma has been a big part of G’s life for a while now, we’ve been such great friends,’ she told us. ‘Emma is one of the people that I talked to about this before making that decision, because it is a little scary.
‘Once we realized, okay, let’s just film where it’s just us and no drama can even infiltrate any of this scene, then it made me feel more comfortable adding G into such a chaotic show.
‘It’s stressful to feel like you have this… I just felt like I was responsible for making sure that it didn’t add anything negative to their life, because they already deal with a lot with people and their opinions. That’s already a lot, so I don’t need to add whatever drama is going on on the show.
‘That was something that we had many talks about until we found a place that we were really comfortable with. I’m obviously a little biased but those were my favorite things to shoot, because I knew it was going to be happy and no stress. So that was nice.’
When asked if there was anything they filmed that didn’t make it into the final cut, Chrishell recalled: ‘Just one scene actually that we shot that didn’t make it, but it is on the Netflix YouTube page, which is G and I trying to make some vegan cupcakes for Heather’s birthday.
‘It’s funny because we are not – by any means – bakers or cooks at all. So we tried. It’s the thought that counts.’
While Chrishell has been a regular on Selling Sunset from its inception in 2019, Emma joined the cast at the start of season four, which aired in 2021.
We’ve watched her thrive in the Oppenheim Group office, spill the beans about Hollywood matches on Raya, and flirt briefly with property entrepreneur Micah McDonald.
When asked about her future on the show, Emma stated that she would be pleased to follow Chrishell’s lead and share her future relationships with viewers.
‘I’m a very open person when it comes to everything in my life and relationships are definitely no different,’ she added. ‘If I was to be in a relationship with someone, I would for sure see if they wanted to come on the show.
‘Ultimately, it would be up to them, because I would never want to force someone to do something. But I think it’s really sweet and really special that Chrishell was able to show her relationship.
‘It would definitely be something that I would be open to, as long as my partner was open to it as well.’
