Craig Charles has quit presenting The Gadget Show after being at the helm for more than five years.
The presenter and DJ said he needed more time to do the things he wanted to do and to take on new projects as reasons for the move.
Craig, 58, told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: ‘I don’t think I’ll co-present any more Gadget Shows, so that’s gone.
‘I like new adventures – I’m always looking forward rather than back.
‘When I was in the jungle (in I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!) my brother died and it prompted me to leave Coronation Street because it made me realise there were things I wanted to do – which I didn’t have time for while I was in Corrie – before it was too late.’
The former Red Dwarf actor presented the show alongside Ortis Deley, Jon Bentley, and Georgie Barrat.

His choice to leave The Gadget Show follows the star’s BBC Radio show, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, being axed after eight years.
Craig said in the announcement from the BBC: ‘Every party must come to an end and although I’m packing up my Trunk of Funk on Radio 2, I’ve loved bringing the party to its funky listeners each Saturday night.’
Scissor Sisters’ star Ana Matronic’s early hours Sunday show Dance Devotion and Dr Rangan Chatterjee’s late-night Sunday show were also cancelled.
Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2, said: ‘Thank you so much to Ana, Craig and Dr Rangan. It has been a pleasure to have them bookend Saturday and Sunday evenings on Radio 2.’
The Moneybags has recently expressed interest in hosting the Takeshi’s Castle reboot.
Craig narrated the programme between 2002 and 2004 for Challenge TV, dubbing fans as ‘Keshi heads,’ before Dick and Dom took over.
It was announced earlier this year that the Japanese game show is being given a reboot by Amazon Prime Video.
When asked if he would return for the revival, the Coronation Street star told Metro.co.uk and other publications: ‘They’d have to ask first. It’s certainly something I’d look at – I had such fun doing it.’
