When he found out his daughter was on a popular reality show, a father couldn’t help but scream.
Furthermore, she was about to marry a stranger, and he had no idea.
Married At First Sight truly sees some optimistic singletons marry someone they meet at the altar, as the title suggests, and it delivers plenty of rollercoasters along the road.
However, as viewers get to know the competitors, they get a glimpse into their personal lives, especially when they notify their loved ones about the big decision they’ll be making.
And one did not go exactly as planned.
Peggy Rose, 32, reveals she’s ‘terrified’ of breaking the news to her father, and based by his reaction, she should be.
‘He’s always been quite protective, and if he disagrees, I’ll be devastated,’ she adds.
Sitting both her mum and dad down, she begins: ‘So don’t take this the wrong way, mum it’s nothing bad.’
‘Well get it out then,’ her mum cries, while her dad urges: ‘Come on then!’
Peggy continues: ‘So I’m going to get married… I’m going to get married to a stranger.’
Her dad isn’t having any of it.
He bluntly replies: ‘Up your f**king b*****ks you are.’
Many people have questioned if the emotions are genuine, however we’re quite sure Peggy’s father wouldn’t have been able to be so astonished.
This is a popular question. The families know a TV crew has arrived but do not know what show it’s for. Therefore, the surprise is authentic. #MAFSUK https://t.co/1W6YDyTPUV

MAFS host Paul Carrick Brunson has previously cleared up rumours on social media, explaining: ‘This is a popular question. The families know a TV crew has arrived but do not know what show it’s for. Therefore, the surprise is authentic. #MAFSUK.’
‘Imagine if they all thought it was Bake Off,’ one fan laughed.
Will Peggy be able to go down the aisle with the blessing of her father?
‘My family didn’t want to get rid of me since I cook and clean, I’m the baby left,’ the technology risk partner from Kent earlier stated. They were not interested.
‘It’s not traditional, is it? My family is traditional, they wanted a conventional wedding not marry a stranger.’
Married At First Sight UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4.
