Daisy May Cooper’s thriller comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? has been renewed for a second season.
The This Country star penned the BBC drama with old drama school pal Selin Hizli amid her marriage break-up in the pandemic.
The first season followed Nic (Daisy) and her seemingly perfect life in a bougie Cotswold village, where she lives with her husband Dan (Dustin Demri-Burns) and son Ollie (Lenny Rush).
However, the illusion of domestic bliss is soon shattered with Nic lusting after another man, who has recently died, and struggling to form real friendships in the local area, until Jen (Selin) arrives.
As Nic gets to know her new wine-guzzling pal it seems she could be hiding a dark secret or trying to sabotage Nic’s life when she films her opening up about her secret affair?
The finale upends the romantic flashbacks of Nic and her deceased lover Alex (David Fynn), who is also revealed to be her husband’s brother, showing Alex instead to be relentlessly cruel towards Nic.

Meanwhile, it is revealed Jen had to flee her former life when she repeatedly tried to save her former colleague from an abusive relationship, which resulted in her getting fired.
After moving to the new village she went on a Tinder date with Dan, before realising she was her new best mate’s husband and vowed to protect her new friendship, much to Dan’s chagrin.

Lenny, who has Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia congenita a condition that affects his growth and plays Ollie, previously told Metro.co.uk he was attracted to the six-parter because disability wasn’t a ‘massive plot.’
He said: ‘I’ve got my segway and it has a disability badge on the front, but nothing’s ever said about it. And I like that because it’s not needed to be said.

‘Obviously some shows might be revolved around a kid with a disability and that makes sense if it’s about the disability. But I like [that the team of Am I Being Unreasonable?] didn’t make it into a massive plot. I liked that.’
Am I Being Unreasonable? season 1 is available to stream on iPlayer.
