Dan Walker had an out-of-body experience after a bike accident earlier this year.
On February 20, the TV host was struck by a vehicle while cycling near his family’s Sheffield home.
The 46-year-old had an unusual encounter while being treated by paramedics on the site.
‘I had a strange experience where I was watching myself on the floor then eventually I came back into my body,’ he told The Sun’s TV magazine.
‘It was a sort of reset moment for me.’
He posted a series of photographs of his bleeding and battered face on social media after being transported from the site in an ambulance at the time.

‘Bit of an accident this morning. Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike,’ he wrote.
‘Face is a mess but I don’t think anything is broken. Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene.
‘This is my smiling 😂 Thankful for our NHS ❤️.’
He slept for ten days before returning to his job on Channel 5’s 5 News.
He returned to the form of transportation just a month later.
‘Got back on the bike for the first time today and felt safe and secure,’ he shared on Instagram.
‘New bike, new helmet… just disappointed I didn’t manage to match the socks to the frame.’

Dan told to Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 how his 2021 Strictly Come Dancing experience helped him during his recuperation.
‘So I watch some of my old dancing (videos) back and then I pause them and I was testing my brain and my body to think, ‘Does my brain know what the next move is and can my body remember it?’ And it did on every single occasion.
‘So I told Nadiya [Bychkova] that she’s helped me with my recovery from this accident, so Strictly does help even years after.’
