Christopher Dean of Dancing On Ice fell while performing a difficult sequence.
When the ITV smash series returns in a matter of days, the judge will be among a panel that also includes Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill, and Oti Mabuse.
Love Island‘s Ekin-Su Cülcülolu, TOWIE’s Joey Essex, and The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran are just a few of the 11 celebs that will be skating to prove they are the best and win the title this year.
He shared a picture of his bandaged little finger on Twitter just before the return of the competition series, which he had won in the Olympic media category. He is 64 years old.
Christopher wrote, “Yes broken,” as the post’s caption before explaining what had transpired.
He explained: ‘We were trying the Iron Lotus, but ended up doing a Half Nelson. Or did I just fall over a suitcase in the middle of the night.’
We wish Christopher a speedy recovery; he’s been dating ice skater Karen Barber, 61, since 2011.
Unfortunately, the TV star isn’t the first celebrity to have been hurt in the run-up to the 2023 season of Dancing On Ice; Ekin-Su recently revealed a gruesome wound.
She said, “It’s gone now but there was a bruise,” on an episode of Good Morning Britain that aired in November. Sorry about my missing toenail, but hey! It’s all good. It reversed, but it’s awesome anyway. That will certainly shed light on the current state of my training.
An injury sustained by Connor Ball just before his skate was broadcast last year left him with blood on the ice.
The evening’s substitute host Phillip Schofield, Stephen Mulhern, addressed Connor’s chin injury and said that he was supposed to open the show on Sunday but had an accident right before.
Stephen said: ‘I don’t know if you can see this but Dancing On Ice is completely live and Connor was meant to open the entire show, but had an accident before the show.
‘He had stitches before the show so he couldn’t go on first and they have now opened up.’
Dancing On Ice begins on ITV1 on Sunday January 15 at 6.30pm.
