American Idol winner Jordin Sparks was the latest celebrity eliminated from Dancing With The Stars.
Despite their Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired tango scoring them an impressive 36 out of 40, the No Air hitmaker found herself dancing again for a place in the competition alongside dance partner Brandon Armstrong.
However, judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough and Carrie Ann Inabe opted to save Heidi D’Amelio – the mother of TikTok creators Charli and Dixie – and her pro partner Artem Chigvintsev.
Speaking about her experience, Jordin said: ‘It’s been life changing. There aren’t that many times as a performer that you get to do something different and new.
‘Thank you so much for inviting me into your world. It’s crazy but I love it and I can’t wait to keep doing more actually.’
Several fans took to Twitter to share their disappointment, with one writing: ‘Jordin, the sweetest and most beautiful soul.
‘I fell in love with her the moment she opened the first show of the season. This is so unfair. I’m so proud of her and what she achieved this season but she will be so missed.
‘we live in a universe where Jordin Sparks placed 9th on Dancing With The Stars…,’ another added.
A third person seethed: ‘Jordin baby just know America chose you tonight, this show is a joke. #DWTS where everything is made up and the points don’t matter!
‘I wholeheartedly disagree with that vote,’ another added.
‘The light Jordin brought to the ballroom and her growth was heads above her competition in the bottom two.’
At the end of the show, before the audience votes were put together US TV personality Vinny Guadagnino was in 9th place, Jordin was in 8th, Heidi was in 7th place and The Bachelor’s Gabby Windey was in 6th place.
Drag Queen Shangela and stage actor Daniel Durant were joint in fourth place. Comedian Wayne Brady placed third on the leaderboard, while 90210 star Trevor Donovan and TikTok influencer Charli D’Amelio were tied for first place.
Dancing With The Stars is available to stream on Disney+ in the US.
