Dancing With The Stars has been hit with a Covid-19 outbreak behind the scenes, shortly after the series premiere.
Season 31 kicked off on Monday, with Selma Blair, Teresa Giudice, Charli D’Amelio and Jordin Sparks among those showing off their best moves on the dancefloor.
Side note: We’re still not over that Real Housewives of New Jersey table flip reference.
However, it has now been revealed that at least four cases of coronavirus have since been reported backstage.
‘Over the course of five days, there were a total of four Covid positives among more than 300 production employees,’ a spokesperson for the show told Metro.co.uk in a statement.
‘All four individuals work in completely different departments that do not have in person contact with each other, based on our pod system.

‘Contact tracing was immediately conducted. All close contacts were notified and put on an increased testing cadence.
‘No close contact of the four positive production employees has since tested positive.’
‘The entire set has been disinfected. As an extra precaution, we asked the majority of employees to work from home,’ they added.

‘After our Covid compliance officer provided all of this information, Dancing with the Stars was cleared by the Department of Public Health to continue production, based on our strict safety protocols.
Monday saw an emotional first episode of DWTS hit our screens – airing on Disney+ for the first time.

Many were left in tears over Selma’s stunning performance of the Viennese Waltz with professional partner Sasha Farber, after the Cruel Intentions actress spoke of her battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
In the opener, she danced to The Time Of My Life and scored an impressive 27 points, meaning that she safely sailed through to week two.
However, Teresa and Sex and the City’s Jason Lewis didn’t have the time of their lives in the premiere, landing in the bottom two.
The judging panel – made up of Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough – opted to save the Bravo icon, meaning Jason and partner Peta Murgatroyd were the first to be eliminated.
Dancing With The Stars continues on Mondays, at 8pm ET on Disney+.
