The BBC has enraged Doctor Who fans by releasing a preview for the forthcoming season just seconds before the Eurovision Song Contest begins.
The teaser, which included the return of David Tennant, provided audiences a taste of what to anticipate when the film hits theatres later this year.
The former series actor will resume his role as the Fourteenth Doctor in three special episodes that will premiere in November to commemorate the show’s 60th anniversary.
The Doctor was shown in the video alongside Catherine Tate, who reprised her role as Donna Noble, as well as previews of other dramatic moments involving main performers Neil Patrick Harris and Yasmin Finney, who both walk into the realm of Doctor Who.
The names of the three episodes are also known.
The Star Beast, Wild Blue Yonder, and The Giggle will be their names.
Neil also appeared briefly in a top hat and suit while the Doctor danced with him on the street.
When Donna spotted the deceptively cute monster, she exclaimed, “What the hell?”
Fans obviously couldn’t get enough of it.
‘The Doctor and Donna are back!’ one person posted on Twitter.
‘Omg I’m so excited. This looks amazing,’ someone else said.
Another added: ‘That Doctor Who trailer was short, but it was enough. Got me excited and I’m really intrigued by the episode titles.’
Three secret coded teasers have been sprinkled across the BBC One schedule in recent weeks, including a binary code that provided eagle-eyed fans hints to one of the three special episode names.
‘The titles are just the beginning of the Doctor’s biggest adventure yet,’ showrunner Russell T Davies said.
‘Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna and disaster about to be unleashed.’
Following these three specials, Ncuti Gatwa’s debut episode as the Fifteenth Doctor will air over the holiday season.
Doctor Who will premiere exclusively on the BBC in the UK and Ireland and on Disney Plus internationally.
