Davina McCall has shared an emotional video on social media, expressing gratitude to her friends, family, and followers for their support during her recovery from brain surgery.
The 57-year-old presenter underwent surgery on November 15 to remove a benign brain tumour after a routine health check revealed the condition. The procedure required a craniotomy, and Davina has been keeping fans updated on her progress since returning home.
Speaking from her bed, Davina thanked everyone who had reached out, saying: “It’s meant the world. I’m on the other side now. My short-term memory is a bit remiss, but that’s something I can work on. I’m feeling incredibly lucky and grateful.” She also expressed appreciation for her partner Michael Douglas and her mum, who have been caring for her during her recovery.
Davina also gave a heartfelt shoutout to her stepmother, Gabby, describing her as a lifelong “rock” and emphasizing how much she values her support. Reflecting on her recovery, Davina said, “I’m sleeping loads and taking it easy, but I feel really good.”
Following her operation, Michael Douglas shared an update on her behalf, reassuring fans that the surgery had gone well. Davina spent a day in intensive care as a precaution and has since been recovering at home. Despite her recent health ordeal, she managed to engage with fans during the latest season of *I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!*.
During an Instagram Live with Ant and Dec, Davina surprised fans by joining the chat and commenting, “Hey everyone! Still here.” Her appearance delighted the duo, who sent their love and urged her to rest and recover fully.
Support for Davina has poured in from her celebrity friends, with Holly Willoughby, Alexandra Burke, Alison Hammond, and Claudia Winkleman among those sending well wishes. Alan Carr expressed relief at her progress, while Amanda Holden shared that she had been thinking of Davina throughout the day.
Before the surgery, Davina consulted with several neurosurgeons to ensure the best course of action. She described the tumour as “big for the space” in her brain, noting that its growth could have led to severe complications. Despite the challenges, she remained optimistic and reassured fans she was in “good spirits.”
Now focused on rest and recovery, Davina continues to inspire with her positive outlook and resilience. She ended her video by thanking her followers again and emphasizing how much their messages of support have meant during this challenging time.
