Denise Welch has admitted to making a tremendous – and irreversible – error with her friend’s late mother’s prized possessions.
On Thursday’s Loose Women, the former Waterloo Road actress, 65, said she ‘broke into tears’ when she revealed the ‘totally mortifying’ error.
Denise, the mother of The 1975’s Matty Healy, confessed she had a storage room cleared out because it had become a ‘clutterfest’ and left her feeling ‘overwhelmed.’
The Soldier Soldier She had forgotten about the objects, which had all been thrown away, until she received a call from her friend Pam, who had kept some fairly valuable stuff in Denise’s cellar.
Pammy, in reality, had put all of her late mother’s antiques at Denise’s home and, having stopped by, was now having difficulty finding them since it was’so clean.’
Denise remembered Pam relaying this to her over the phone, and her immediate reaction was to pretend she had a terrible signal and was breaking up.

Her inclination was to hurry over to her husband Lincoln Townley, at which time she ‘broke into tears’ over the loss of her valuables, which included a suitcase and pictures.
‘I, in my own defence, didn’t know they were there,’ Denise insisted.
Denise continued that she was ‘absolutely mortified’ after the accident but eventually told Pam, who ‘took quite a long while to get over it.’

Pam was seated in the Loose Women audience and was allowed to tell her side of the tale.
Fortunately for Denise, she said she was forgiven, adding: ‘It was an accident. Accidents happen.’
‘I didn’t want her to know that I had forgiven her straight away. I wanted her to sweat a little bit,’ she jokingly added.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
