On Thursday’s Loose Women, Denise Welch became enraged when discussing Prince Harry’s court battle.
Denise, 65, returned to the panel in excellent shape after a two-week absence and wasted no time voicing her thoughts.
The panel, which also featured Charlene White, Jane Moore, and Linda Robson, reviewed the royal’s case against Mirror Group Newspapers in the opening minutes.
His complaint says that around 140 articles published by MGN titles between 1996 and 2010 contained material collected illegally.
Denise said that she had been a victim of phone hacking herself and described how she informed authorities about unlawfully obtained information about her.
She went on to assert that she had no doubt that Prince Harry had been hacked, a claim that her co-hosts sought to refute.
Regarding how the issue was still evolving, Jane, 61, stated that while Prince Harry ‘believed’ material was obtained illegally, ‘it has not been proven’.
‘Well I’m pretty sure…everybody knows what happened,’ Denise responded.
‘To me, even if he doesn’t prove it, I don’t think there is one person, except journalists, who actually believe that didn’t happen on an industrial scale.’
However, as Jane pointed out, that was ‘not the point of a court case’.
‘You have to be able to prove something in court. A court is not a place to vent. Hold a press conference by all means…everybody would attend his press conference, or start a campaign,’ she said.
Jumping in, Denise then questioned: ‘Jane, do you believe Prince Harry was not hacked on an industrial scale?’
‘I don’t know,’ she replied, which lead Charlene to say that was ‘the point of a court case’.
Denise later stated that Jane’s viewpoint was influenced by her journalism job.
After being asked if she trusted Jane, she said: ‘I trust you implicitly, but I don’t trust many of your colleagues.’
Denise rolled her eyes at her co-panelist as the section concluded with Jane reminding her that a “burden of evidence” was required.
Denise has already shown her support for Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
Earlier this year, she stated that the prince should be free to’say his piece’ in response to outrage over some of the contents in his book, Spare, as well as the fact that he was making money by publishing confidential family discussions.
‘The fact is the Royal Family make quite a bit of money, Jane, themselves,’ she stated, claiming that it was ‘game over’ when ‘Meghan was seen as the People’s Princess’.
‘I think do what you like and tell your story,’ she added.
The former soaps actress then declared she was ‘team Harry and Meghan’.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
