Doctor Who’s Ncuti Gatwa took a well-deserved break from filming to watch Beyonce with newbie Jonathan Groff on Wednesday evening.
The 41-year-old XO hitmaker performed her greatest songs at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, igniting the Beyhive with her first UK engagement since 2018, when she joined husband Jay-Z on the On The Run II tour.
Ncuti, 30, of Sex Education, and Jonathan, 38, of Glee, were seen rightly fangirling when Queen Bey performed 1+1.
Jonathan looked to be enjoying the time of his life, frequently exclaiming, ‘Oh my God!’
Fans were ecstatic by the collaboration, with one fan saying, ‘Jonathan Ncuti and Beyonce all being in the same place in Cardiff simply seems like a fever dream.’
‘Groff seeing Beyoncé is probably the best thing I’ve seen today. I’d be as exited as he is if i were watching his concert,’ another added.
‘Seeing people meet jonathan groff and ncuti gatwa at a beyoncé concert… that should be ME,’ a third tweeted.
This comes as a recently published photograph showed former Coronation Street actress Millie posing in a brilliant yellow gown with white gloves suitable for a Duchess, while Ncuti and Jonathan stood regal in their tailcoats.
Speaking of his new role, Jonathan previously said: ‘I am so thrilled to jump into the extraordinary mind of Russell T Davies and watch the incredible Ncuti Gatwa soar in this iconic role!’
Showrunner Russell added: ‘This is an incredible coup, and a great honour, to get such a huge star striding on to our set.
‘So strap on your space boots, this is going to be a blast!’
Sci-fi fans have already seen the first images of Millie and Ncuti in Doctor Who, and the couple has been sighted filming on location, however specifics regarding the forthcoming season have been kept under wraps.
Ncuti’s first scenes as the Fifteenth Doctor will appear later this year, but not until Tenth Doctor David Tennant makes a triumphant return as the… Fourteenth Doctor.
Doctor Who returns in November on the BBC and iPlayer.
