Ncuti Gatwa, a Doctor Who star, has been added to the lineup for King Charles’ coronation.
The 30-year-old Sex Education actor will perform at the glitzy occasion to commemorate the coronation of the King and Queen Consort with musical performers Take That, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.
According to the BBC, Ncuti will perform excerpts from a Shakespeare play with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company that centres on “themes of love and togetherness.”
The renowned acting ensemble, The Royal Ballet, and The Royal Opera will perform in the one-time show. First collaboration between The Royal College of Music and The Royal College of Art.
Along with the Shakespeare, they will sing a lovely version of a well-known song from West Side Story, and dancers from the Royal Ballet will produce a specially choreographed piece for the “spectacular” performance.
Hugh Bonneville, an actor best known for his roles in Downton Abbey and World War One, will serve as the concert’s presenter.

Along with these performers, the lineup will also feature singer-songwriter Freya Ridings, bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel from Wales, Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, and composer Alexis Ffrench of classical-soul music.
The BBC has announced that Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen, three of the founding members of Take That, will perform. However, the concert will also present a chance for Robbie Williams and Jason Orange to reunite for a special performance.
Robbie has previously performed with the remaining group, notably at a pandemic-related virtual benefit concert.
With a streak of number one albums under her belt, US diva Katy is one of the greatest pop performers in the world and has previously expressed her excitement to play at the event.
Prince Harry will attend the coronation, according to Buckingham Palace, but the Duchess of Sussex will stay at their California home to take care of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, instead.
Harry won’t attend the coronation concert on Sunday, May 7, according to confirmation.
To celebrate his son Archie’s fourth birthday, which falls on the same day as the coronation, he will instead go home.
A gathering of 20,000 spectators and invited guests will observe the event on May 7 in the grounds of Windsor Castle, and it will be aired on BBC radio and television.
