Yep, it’s official… RuPaul’s Drag Race is coming back for another UK series.
BBC Three has given us three successful series so far, along with a UK vs The World spin-off, and will soon be introducing a crop of new queens for a sure-to-be exciting fourth series.
But when does the new series begin, and is RuPaul herself back as a judge? Do we even know which queens will be taking part yet?
Here’s everything we know so far.
When does Drag Race UK series 4 start?
The fourth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK starts on Thursday, September 22.
With the BBC confirming 10 episodes forthcoming, the series will last for much of the rest of 2022.
How to watch Drag Race UK series 4
Right now, we don’t know what time episodes of Drag Race UK will air on Thursdays.
However, it’s safe to assume that the programme will air on BBC Three at set times, as it did for previous seasons, as well as having episodes available weekly on iPlayer.
If you need to catch up, you can watch the first three series of Drag Race UK here.
BBC iPlayer still hosts episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race vs The World, too – a miniseries which first aired in March 2022.
Do we know who this year’s competing drag queens are?
Alas, the 12 queens competing in series four of Drag Race UK have yet to be revealed.
Once they’ve been announced, we’ll update and let you know.
Who are the judges?
The UK judging panel is back – meaning legendary drag queen RuPaul will be head judge.
Sitting beside Mother will be best pal Michelle Visage, comedy icon Alan Carr, and talk show host / hilarious Eurovision commentator Graham Norton.
Graham and Alan tended to alternate weeks on the judging panel in past UK series, so Ru and Michelle could be joined by a special guest judge.
Who are the celebrity guest judges?
It’s already been revealed that Alison Hammond and Dame Joanna Lumley will guest judge Drag Race UK series four.
Joining them is Hannah Waddingham, known for starring in Apple TV’s hit show Ted Lasso, celebrity chef Lorraine Pascale and model-slash-influencer Leomie Anderson.
Spice Girls star Mel B and Boy George will also make guest appearances on the judging panel, as will Years and Years and It’s A Sin star Olly Alexander and Brit singer FKA twigs.
Fans will also see TV presenters Tess Daly and AJ Odudu take on Snatch Game.
Comedian Aisling Bea, singer-songwriter Cathy Dennis and Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice will also pop up during challenges.
Who won Drag Race UK last year?
The winner of Drag Race UK series three was Krystal Versace – who is Luke Finn out of drag.
Krystal was just 19 when she won, making her the youngest winner in Drag Race history – including countless US, Canada, Holland, Spain, Thailand, Down Under and All Stars series.
Liverpudlian queen The Vivienne won the first series, beating Baga Chipz to the crown, while Glasgow’s drag star Lawrence Chaney won series two.
Is there a trailer?
A brief teaser released on August 30 heard RuPaul laughing ominously, with the words ‘bring it to the runw4y’ across the screen. Exciting…
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK returns on Thursday, September 22 on BBC Three.
