On Monday, Ed Balls made the whole Good Morning Britain studio laugh.
The retired Labour MP poked fun at Dr. Hilary Jones, and even Susanna Reid busted out laughing.
Susanna, 52, addressed the audience about the day’s plans, adding that she and Ed, 56, will be speaking with Dr Hilary, 69, about his recent appearance on the quiz programme Mastermind.
Susanna said: ‘Coming up, we’re going to be talking to Dr Hilary [about reports concerning air pollution] and about Dr Hilary’s appearance over the weekend on Mastermind.’
The presenter added: ‘[His] specialist subject? Penicillin.’
It was then that Ed quipped: ‘Penicillin? Bet he’s fun,’ prompting Susanna to burst into laughter alongside others in the studio, who could be heard cackling in the background.
When Dr Hilary entered the studio, Susanna told Ed, ‘I’m not going to drop you in it,’ but it was too late, as Dr Hilary promptly said, ‘I heard.’ Yikes!
It follows Ed’s live on-air swearing last month.
Ed and Susanna reminisced about the day EastEnders actor Danny Dyer made a lasting impact on an episode of the ITV morning programme in March.
‘We do love Danny Dyer on this programme,’ Susanna began.
‘He caused quite a stir didn’t he when he was talking about Brexit.’
Ed curiously asked: ‘I was here, he used the T word, are we allowed to say that this early?’
Despite the fact that the profanity was on the Ofcom list, the former Strictly Come Dancing star decided to give it a shot.
‘So you can’t say t**t?’ he said.
Susanna, donning a classic mum look, quickly quipped: ‘You do know we are on air don’t you?’
Ed replied: ‘I apologise, then. I didn’t mean to say that. I am sorry I didn’t know.’
Viewers were also in shock over the blunder, with one person writing: ‘Ed “so you can’t use the ‘T’ word?”, ‘No’ responds Suzanna, “So I can’t say T**t?”, responds Ed. Oh Edmond.’
