Elisabeth Moss is joining forces with Peaky Blinders showrunner Steven Knight for his latest drama – and we can’t wait to watch it.

The Veil explores the surprising and fraught relationship between two women who play a deadly game of truth and lies on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London.

While one woman is keeping an explosive secret, the other is on a mission to reveal it before thousands of lives are lost.

No other cast members or plot details have been announced, but Steven, 62, has promised the gripping series will be ‘a landmark television event.’

The news comes just days after the Taboo showrunner finished up executive producing the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, which was held in Birmingham.

The Veil is quite the departure from the epic event, which saw the likes of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Ginny Lemon arrive and perform in a lemon-shaped hot air balloon.

Steven is also busy working on the film version of Peaky Blinders, after the sixth and final season of the gangster drama aired this year.

Discussing which actors will feature in the movie, the director told Heart Breakfast there would be ‘some new faces that will hopefully be quite surprising.’

Steven exclusively revealed to Metro.co.uk he would love to see Line of Duty actor Vicky McClure in the film, after she previously disclosed she had auditioned for every series but not got a part.

The Locke writer said: ‘I really want her in it! I don’t know how we haven’t managed to do that.

‘I mean, she’s brilliant and it’s not a decision on anybody’s part to say no because she’s brilliant.’

Meanwhile, Elisabeth, 40, is reprising her role of June in the fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale, which is out next month.

The trailer for the dystopian drama follows straight after the season 4 finale, when June and a mob of former Handmaids killed Commander Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes), June’s former captor when she was in his service in Gilead.

The Veil will be made available on Hulu.
