The comedian and Ted Lasso star and her partner Johannes Radebe became the latest pair to be eliminated from the series on Sunday night after facing Fleur East in the dance-off.
When appearing on Lorraine on Tuesday morning, Ellie was asked about whether or not she would continue dancing after picking up the new skill.
‘I would love to say yes, but no,’ she said.
‘What class am I going to possibly go to that will compete with dancing with Johannes from Strictly for eight hours a day one-on-one?
‘It’s just not going to work. I think I will leave it on a high and just have lovely memories.’
However, she did say how proud she was to have made it so far in the competition.
‘I had it in my diary up until week three and that was it and I thought, maybe on a wing and a prayer I could make it to week six, but to make it to week 10, never in my mind at all [did I think I’d get this far],’ she said.
‘So, I’m absolutely thrilled.’
However, her four-year-old daughter is definitely not happy with the result.
‘She really got into it…she knows all the judges names,’ she said.
‘[She says] Craig (Revel Horwood) is a bit mean and Motsi Mabuse agrees with Shirley.
‘She has a lot of opinions and she is quite annoyed I won’t win. Not sad, but because she wanted the Glitterball.
‘But she now wants Diane (Buswell) to win and I had to explain she isn’t in the competition anymore. She is having a hard few weeks.’
When she was eliminated, Ellie said that she was ‘going to be a cliché machine’, but that her experience on the show had been ‘everything and more’.
‘I never in a million years expected to be in for this long and to experience it so fully.
‘Strictly is about dancing but it’s also about the people, and every part of this show from the top to bottom, from the Execs to the make-up, to the hair to the costumes, to the sets to the band, to my fellow celebs and the dancers – even some of the judges have been alright.
‘It’s been an absolute privilege to become part of the Strictly alumni and I’ve really really loved it.’
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Friday at 5:40pm on BBC One.
