Emilia Clarke has revealed that her brother was there on set when she and Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington shot their first sex scene.
The 36-year-old British actress, who portrayed Daenerys Targaryen in the fantasy series, was addressing on stage following the debut of her new Marvel series Secret Invasion.
During an audience session at the Superhero Comic Con and Car Show, she reconnected with Kit, who portrayed another Game of Thrones star, Jon Snow.
Though Emilia and Kit were good friends who frequently filmed in various locations, their characters finally reunited as the tale came to a climax.
Jon and Daenerys were introduced and began a love connection during the seventh season of the series, with millions watching their first-ever sex scene together.
Emilia’s brother, who happened to be on set on the day she began filming one of the show’s most iconic sex scenes, was one of those millions.
Speaking about her memories of Game of Thrones, she turned to Kit and said: ‘I do remember the day, our sex scene day, and my brother was there.’
When questioned if she’d just said’sexy day,’ Emilia explained that she meant the day she shot the sex scene with the Eternals actor.
‘My brother was in the camera department and he was on set that day,’ she continued, providing more detail about the awkward moment.
The Me Before You actress then said she tried to get him to leave: ‘It was literally like, “Mate! You’ve got to get him out of here. He’s not allowed to be here!”
Jon and Daenerys give succumb to their affections after creating a tenuous political alliance, with Jon visiting Daenerys’ quarters in the middle of the night.
As the iconic scene unfolds, viewers are informed that Jon is actually Daenerys’ nephew, owing to a convoluted family tree.
Kit’s attendance on the panel marked his first public appearance after the birth of his second child, a girl, with Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie.
The pair issued a statement stating they were ‘overjoyed’ with their new arrival, which arrived five years after they married in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
