Lionesses’ Jill Scott is already adamant that she won’t be crowned this year’s Queen of the Jungle ahead of her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stint.
The 35-year-old former football pro announced her retirement from the beloved sport after the Lionesses’ triumphed over Sweden during the Women’s Euros final in July.
Although Jill is competitive by nature, she revealed that she isn’t too fussed about taking the crown on this year’s series – which also features singer Boy George, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood and Radio DJ Chris Moyles.
Speaking about her upcoming appearance on the survival series, she said: ‘I am a winning type of person naturally but more in a football sense when there is a Euro’s trophy at the end of it.
‘I am not going in to win. I am going in to have a good time. I am the type of person who is very happy for people who do well and it doesn’t necessarily have to be me.’
Midfielder Jill also shared that one of the things she’s looking forward to doing is ‘being off her phone.’
Also putting their physical and mental strength to the test is rugby star Mike Tindall, husband of Zara Tindall and Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver.
Actor Owen Warner and presenter Scarlette Douglas are also part of this year’s line-up, alongside Loose Women’s Charlene White, comedian Babatunde Aleshe.
It was recently reported that former Health Secretary Matt Hancock will be joining the show as a latecomer.
According to insiders, Mr Hancock will come into the camp late along with comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing star Seann Walsh.
‘Matt is a sensational signing for the show as producers love a star with a story to tell – and they always hope they’ll spill the beans round the campfire,’ a TV source said.
‘He’s the latest in a long line of figures from the political sphere, including MP Nadine Dorries, Stanley Johnson and MP Lembit Opik.’
They added to The Sun: ‘There’s been a question mark over who the twelfth campmate would be, partly because negotiations over Matt going in were so top secret. It seems Matt was a last-minute signing.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
