Chloe Cherry, who stars in Euphoria, has been accused of shoplifting a shirt that retails for $28 (or £22.89) from a shopping centre in her hometown.
The Zendaya-led adolescent drama’s second season included the 25-year-old actress in the role of Faye, the girlfriend of Custer (Tyler Chase), a drug supplier who works with Fez (Angus Cloud). Faye was introduced in the second season of the show.
According to legal records acquired by People, the actress was charged with misdemeanour theft earlier this month following an alleged incident at the Building Character retail centre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The claimed incident occurred in the middle of this month.
According to a witness, TMZ In December, Cherry tried on a shirt that cost $28 before departing the store without paying for it. This occurred despite the fact that Cherry used her credit card to pay for other things.
The source claims that when the police became involved, the OnlyFans model acknowledged she had taken the blouse and returned it to the officer, but the model’s representation disputed that this had happened.
Her spokesperson said: ‘In December, there was confusion over a blouse that wasn’t properly charged to my client’s credit card.
‘In no way did she “admit” to taking the blouse, since that was not the case. This story seems to be more about a local store trading on a celebrity’s name more than anything else.’
The proprietor of Building Character, Marty Hulse, stated that the shirt was stolen from the vendor at Jenny and the Clowder, and that Cheery was located through the use of surveillance cameras.
According to MailOnline, he stated the following to the local news station Lancaster Online: “The majority of the time, when we catch people who are stealing, we do not find them in the act.”
‘They’ll take the tag off of it and throw it somewhere. Then we see the tag, and we can find them on the camera and where it came from, and that’s exactly what happened.
‘I know it sound piddly, but when it comes down to it, we’re all small businesses. You’re stealing from your neighbours.’
The Lancaster City Bureau of Police has not made a statement as of yet.
On February 22, Cherry is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing about the incident.
