***Warning: Netflix’s Wednesday spoilers ahead***
Tim Burton’s Wednesday has captivated Netflix viewers and has already broken a streaming record, and fans have worked out what lies ahead in season two.
Well, that’s assuming there is one!
The supernatural comedy sees Jenny Ortega as the titular character sent to Nevermore Academy, a school of outcasts after he murders her brother’s bullies.
After starting there, she uncovers her magical abilities, but they pull her into an unfolding murder mystery that she is intent on solving.
In episode seven, titled If You Don’t Woe Me, Tyler Galpin [Wednesday’s uhh love interest] is first revealed as Hyde – the monster in the woods that has been killing people and taking body parts all season.
After Wednesday has a vision of him as the monster when he kisses her, SHE says: ‘Of course the first boy I kiss would turn out to be a psychotic, serial killing monster. I guess I have a type.’
In one of the last scenes, we see Tyler (Hunter Doohan) chained in the back of a police van, very much alive.
But before the scene fades to black, fans see Tyler turning into the monster and breaking his chains — leading many to believe he escapes and will play a significant part in a potential season two.
And in episode eight, titled Murder of Woes, we are left with a mighty cliffhanger which sees Wednesday receiving a string of disturbing messages in which an anonymous stalker says that they’re watching her, and many suspects Tyler is the one plotting for revenge.
According to Reddit, viewers strongly believe that there could be a Hyde 2.0 lurking in the second chapter, ready to wreak all kinds of havoc in Wednesday’s life.
One account explained: ‘I think there actually might be another hyde. I tried to find theories about this, but I couldn’t find anyone speaking about the first episode and the scene with the hiker who gets killed in the forest.
‘Remember the old lady who drove him to the forest path? Her name (according to casting in IMDB) is Martha and dude, check out the big eyed stare when the hiker leaves the car… Maybe this Martha is the stalker at the end and maybe she is related to Tyler somehow (grandmother?)’
Another added: ‘There’s a possibility that it was just a continuity error. The writers either forgot Tyler couldn’t be at two places at once, or there’s a 2nd hyde monster.’
A Wednesday fan held a different view and hoped there wouldn’t be a ‘another Hyde as they want to see a different storyline in season two.
They explained: ‘I’d love for them to do something new with another season, this one was so well thought out.’
Well, if season two is confirmed, we can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix.
