Ferne McCann has stated she knows who leaked the voice notes in which she branded a lady hit with acid by her ex-boyfriend ‘ugly’.
Arthur Collins, the former Towie star’s ex-partner with whom she has a five-year-old daughter, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2017 for hurling acid and wounding many people at a nightclub.
An anonymous account dubbed after Bridgerton‘s faceless gossip Lady Whistledown published damaging recordings in November last year, in which the 32-year-old can be heard calling one of her ex’s victims ‘an ugly f*****g c**t.’
McCann later apologised to Sophie Hall and the other victims of the 2017 incident, but said that the voice notes had been’manipulated, distorted, and taken out of context.’
During a recent visit on This Morning, McCann, who is expecting her second child with fiancé Lorri Haines, sobbed as she pondered on the event, calling it “not her greatest hour.”
In Wednesday’s episode of Ferne McCann: First Time Mother, the reality star revealed more about the issue, claiming she knew who released the tape.
She said: ‘My whole world feels like it’s falling apart and it’s destroying me so much and I can’t do anything to fix it.
‘When I heard the voice notes I immediately remembered who I’d sent them to but I believe they’ve since been edited to remove their context.
McCann continued: ‘Why? Because I think that someone is trying to destroy me and inflict as much damage into my life as possible.
‘There’s only one person that I know would want to inflict this amount of pain and damage onto my life. They destroyed me.’
‘That absolutely was a very tough period in my life when those voice notes were leaked,’ McCann said during her This Morning interview ahead of the First Time Mother programme.
‘I need to publicly apologise again to those affected. The words I used were unpleasant and I have reached out privately to those people.’
She also stated that she called the police once the voice notes were made public.
On the released tape, a speaker claiming to be Ferne appears to refer to Hall competing in a beauty pageant while wearing an outfit made of newspaper cuttings about the attack.
‘I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,’ the audio goes.
‘The silly b**** has made a dress, a papier-mâché dress out of the cuttings from the event. She will probably win it, I’m not going to lie.
‘Only because the awards she entered are probably loving all this free press. So they will probably fix it, she will win. She is one ugly f**king c**t.’
Ferne McCann First Time Mum continues on Wednesday at 9pm on ITVBe.
