This week on WWE SmackDown, Uncle Howdy disrupted the surprise return of the Firefly Fun House.
Bray Wyatt returned to his old haunts, but with a twist: Abby the Witch, Huskus the Pig, Ramblin’ Rabbit, and Mercy the Buzzard all made appearances in a dusty version of the frightening children’s TV set.
Prior to the return of the Fun House, LA Knight stepped out to confront a local talent and began his night by addressing the audience, cutting a superb commercial on Wyatt.
The former NXT superstar questioned his opponent’s mental state and promoted their highly anticipated Pitch Black Match at the Royal Rumble on January 28.
Despite Wyatt’s visage flashing on the titan tron during the brief match, Knight made light work of his opponent after the bell rang.
After the match, a significantly darker version of the Firefly Fun House theme played before we were escorted back onto the set with Wyatt and his pals.
He tried to keep things moving despite some squabbling among his puppet companions over how to interpret the Pitch Black Match, with Ramblin’ Rabbit saying he was afraid of the dark.
Wyatt assured him that was ‘natural,’ noting that things hide under your bed in the dark and issuing a scary warning to Knight to be afraid as well.
Uncle Howdy interrupted, repeatedly exclaiming ‘I told you so,’ remarking that ‘all you needed was a little push,’ implying The Fiend’s coming reappearance.
‘I hope you’re satisfied,’ Wyatt said with a very different demeanour. ‘I hope you understand. You’re the one that opened the door.’
He added: ‘Now, whatever comes through it is your problem. See you at the Royal Rumble.
The return of the Fun House was a nice twist, and it’ll be interesting to see how this plays into the latest edition of Wyatt on SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
