Isabel Webster of GB News described a terrifying event in which she thought she was going to ‘see her kid die’.
On Instagram, the presenter, who co-hosts the news channel with Eamonn Holmes, detailed how her five-year-old kid, Poppy, was nearly crushed by a vehicle.
‘I’m still in shock wafter an extremely terrifying brush with death yesterday,’ she said beside a photo of her family out on a bike ride.
‘This idyllic pic was taken by my husband just a few minutes earlier. He thought it was cute how little our daughter (just 5) looked next to me.’
Poppy, according to Webster, lost control of her bike on a downhill section after visiting a park.
She continued: ‘As luck would have it (!) that happened at the exact moment the cycle lane stopped to make way for a road coming out of an estate, which happened to have a white van hurtling along, accelerating towards Poppy.’

Webster said that what happened next was a ‘blur’, adding: ‘but also happened in slow motion.
‘I kept thinking the van would see her but at the same time, as clear as day, I thought I was about to watch her die… Everyone was screaming, pedestrians, other cyclists, me 😭,’ she said.
But, fortunately, the broadcaster explained her ‘quick-thinking husband saved her life’ and jumped in front of the van.
She added: ‘From behind us he jumped off his bike and launched himself in front of the van pushing Poppy away.
‘Miraculously, I don’t even know how, the driver missed her and Liam and we all walked away unscathed 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼.
‘Oh my God I have never shaken so much. There are no words to describe how grateful I am for Liam. Our hero 😭🥰💜.
‘I can’t stop thinking it over and over… We won’t be going that way home again 😭😭😭.’
Fans were quick to rally around Webster sharing messages of support, with one saying: ‘Thank god for Liam’s quick thinking & your all okay ❤️🙏.’
‘So sorry Isabel. Thank goodness Poppy is well. Sending love too all xx,’ another wrote.
