Gino D’Acampo was in a near-fatal car accident while filming Gordon, Gino, and Fred’s Road Trip for ITV, and ‘nearly perished,’ according to his co-star.
First Dates’ maitre d’ Fred Sirieix revealed a terrible occurrence that occurred in Mexico while filming for the show, which stars Gordon Ramsay.
Throughout three seasons, the trio has kept audiences amused by travelling to Morocco, America, and Greece.
‘The worst one was Gino in Mexico, he almost killed but he knocked into the RV in the go-kart he was in,’ Fred said of one terrifying mishap.
‘He was incredibly lucky, because if his head had hit the floor, he would have been finished.’
According to Fred, he ‘didn’t realise it happened when it did’ since he was driving and couldn’t see through the dust behind him.
He went on to say that he was ‘worried’ about Gordon, who ‘ran into a wall,’ but that he shouldn’t have stopped driving.
‘I would have won the race, I was so p***ed off with myself. Next time, if there is an accident I’m not stopping to save any of them,’ he joked.
This comes after Fred revealed how much fun the three of them have when filming, saying: ‘Look, we have a lot of fun, that’s for sure. That is why it is so beneficial. And I think that appears on video because we’re having a good time.
‘Even if Gordon is just going crazy because we’re having too much fun, that in itself is funny, because you’re like, ‘why are you such a killjoy? Just enjoy life for God’s sake’.
‘Everybody’s different. It’s about live and let live. You’ve got to enjoy people for who they are, no matter what they are, you know?’
