Giovanni Pernice is said to be ‘annoyed’ because Amanda Abbington did not inform him of her departure from Strictly Come Dancing.
A producer for the BBC series apparently notified the professional dancer of the shocking news via phone call just hours before it was made public.
According to an insider, Giovanni’s condition has not been great.
‘Amanda didn’t tell Giovanni she had decided to quit the show. The first he heard was a call from a producer.
‘This has really annoyed him.’
They added to the Daily Star that he ‘barely heard from her for 10 days.’
‘She hasn’t been replying to messages or telling him what’s happening. He’s been complaining about it to friends. He’s frustrated.’
Giovanni, 33, is reportedly concerned about how it may affect his future, according to reports.
‘He is worried the drama will be damaging for his career and make him look bad.’
Giovanni’s representatives, have said: ‘This story is nonsense.’
The actress’ abrupt departure was revealed by the BBC on Monday evening, after she missing Saturday’s live programme due to “medical reasons.”
Amanda, 51, did not mention Giovanni in her Instagram message on her Strictly exit.
In an Instagram message, she instead expressed ‘deep remorse’ over quitting the show.
Citing ‘personal reasons’, she called the experience of working with her fellow contestants ‘an absolute joy’ and praised the ‘incredible’ production team and ‘everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring’.
Fans picked up on Gio’s absence from the social media post.
‘Sad you are leaving but why no mention of Gio? 💕’ asked one of Amanda’s followers in the comment section of her post, while another wrote: ‘Why no word for Gio?’
Amanda’s team denied any snub and instead stated that she wanted to be “inclusive.”
‘She was inclusive of everyone involved in the show who helped make her appearance not only happen but a success,’ they told us.
‘She loved everybody on the programme and did not want to leave anyone out. She is extremely grateful and wishes she could have continued.
‘Health comes first always,’ it concluded.
Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday on BBC One.
