To say the raunchy sequences in Obsession perplexed the Gogglebox actors would be an understatement.
Not just the scenes, but also how long they lasted… or did not.
The latest Netflix drama, starring Richard Armitage as a married doctor who embarks on a torrid romance with his son’s girlfriend, has audiences hot under the collar.
William (Richard) and Anna (Charlie Murphy) spend little time getting into one other’s trousers, despite tight protocols in place to keep their romance a secret – but the stormy affair ends in tragedy.
The armchair reviewers were taken aback, to say the least, when William fed Anna an olive right into her mouth barely seconds after meeting for the first time on Friday (April 14).
It wasn’t long before the two were alone in Anna’s apartment, not saying anything to each other while Anna stripped William nude before pulling her own pants down and lying on the floor… You can guess what happens next.
However, the scenario lasted about two minutes, leaving the Gogglebox actors perplexed.
‘F***ing hell, he’s done absolutely zero groundwork here,’ Pete Sandiford quipped as William pounced onto Anna.
‘He must be good!’
‘I enjoy foreplay first, don’t you,’ Stephen Webb replied to his spouse Daniel, observing how swiftly the encounter appeared to progress.
‘That was the foreplay!’, Daniel argued, referring to the intense stares and Anna taking William’s clothes off slowly.

‘Oh! I’d be like, hurry up, love, I ain’t got no clothes on, I’m freezing!’, Stephen joked. ‘Get your drawers off!’
‘Is he alright?’, Pete asked as the steamy scene progressed.
‘He must have cramp,’ Sophie mocked as Richard’s character became incredibly vocal.
The Gogglebox actors were underwhelmed when the hook-up came to an end.
‘Oh, is that it?’, Jenny Newbie said’
‘Two-minute wonder,’ stated Lee Riley.

‘I think the train’s arrived there, Julie,’ said Tom Malone, to which wife Julie agreed: ‘Yeah, it didn’t last very long.’
Blackpool lass Sophie then said: ‘Not even worth getting undressed for!’, with Pete saying: ‘I think that’s why she (Anna) didn’t bother.’
Shirley and David Griffiths then confessed about their respective sex histories.
‘We’ve never done it on a floor, have we?’, she said with a smile, to which he said they must have.
Shirley became enraged when her husband stated she was too ‘gone’ to recall where they had and hadn’t ‘done it’.
Naturally, viewers at home had a lot to say about the whole thing, with plenty hailing the episode ‘classic Gogglebox’.
‘Netflix’s #Obsession is already on #gogglebox, so you KNOW it’s going to be hilarious’, one person tweeted.
‘Haha theyre reactions to obsession was everything! [sic]’, laughed another.
Gogglebox continues Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
Obsession is available to stream on Netflix.
