Gogglebox fans reacted angrily to a recent episode of Starstruck, mocking the makeover of Sir Tom Jones impersonators.
The couch reviewers were back on the reality show’s season return to dole out their thoughts on the shows that have lately hit our screens.
When it came to watching the Olly Murs-hosted talent competition, though, several of them struggled to keep it together.
Three competitors, Mark, Steve, and Mel, were changed into Sir Tom in the show to perform his 1965 single It’s Not Unusual.
Although several of the Goggleboxers noted on how gorgeous the singer appeared today, aged 82, the makeovers caught them off guard.
When it came to the revelation, many people were completely taken aback by what they witnessed.
‘Oh my gosh,’ Danielle exclaimed, while Amira recoiled and could only muster a ‘oh wow, oh wow’, but later used some colourful words, clearly wondering what she was seeing.
In disbelief, Lee spewed out what he was eating and broke out laughing, while Helena wondered if one of the men was suddenly wearing lip gloss.
Pete, on the other hand, was the one who pointed out that the changes had fallen short.
‘He looks like Jackie Chan,’ he said of one of the men.
‘They looked more like Tom Jones before they got made over than they do now,’ Helena added.
Tremaine added: ‘I hope their singing is a lot better than their makeover.’
Others watching from home had similar emotions.
‘These roasts are so funny,’ one wrote.
However, the trio didn’t perform that well, and were evicted when matched against the other three teams, who impersonated Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Chaka Kan.
This season of Starstruck saw the return of host Olly Murs, as well as judges Beverley Knight, Jason Manford, and Adam Lambert, who were joined by new judge Shania Twain.
Ordinary people of the public are changed into their favourite singers in the show.
Competitors are divided into four teams of three, each vying for a position in the final and the chance to earn £50,000 in cash.
Starstruck airs on Saturdays at 8.30 pm on ITV1 and is streaming on ITVX.
Gogglebox continues Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
