Great British Bake Off star Will has opened up about his time on the iconic Channel 4 program and revealed a surprising behind-the-scenes fact.
The 45-year-old became the first to be eliminated from the famous tent after the bakers were put through their paces with three cake-related challenges.
After whipping up a host of baked delights, including a batch of mini sandwiches and a red velvet cake, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith decided to put the other 11 contestants through to next week.
Appearing on The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice on Friday, the former charity director told Jo Brand that while he was ‘disappointed’ to leave the show, he suspected his numbers were up.
He explained: ‘My area of pleasure of baking is around bread and biscuits – almost everything apart from cakes, so I always knew cakes would be a challenge.’
But the DIY enthusiast’s biggest revelation was about the temperatures of the tent, and it’s not what GBBO fans might have expected.
Will said he had ‘prepared for the tent to be hot’, adding that when he had tuned into the competition series previously he had assumed it would be ‘warm and sweaty.’

However, the reality was very different, with the father-of-three remarking it was ‘really, really cold,’ adding it was like ‘baking in a fridge.’
Let’s hope the crisp temperatures wreak havoc for the other contestants as they try to impress with their Showstoppers.

Among those back on our screens next week, along with hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding, are star baker Janusz Supermarket cashier Carol.
But brace yourself as Paul has warned Great British Bake Off viewers that the eliminations from this year’s competition will leave them devastated.
The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice continues next Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm.
