The Great British Bake Off final 2022 might be less than one week away, but Metro.co.uk readers have already chosen their winner.
After Janusz was eliminated by judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith during patisserie week, it was revealed that Syabira, Sandro and Abdul will be battling it out for the coveted title.
While we’ll have to sit tight to wait and see which baker will swing it, our readers have declared Syabira their champion.
In a Metro.co.uk poll that saw over 1,300 votes, the cardiovascular research associate scored a landslide of 60%, with Sandro coming in second place with 31% and Abdul with 9%.
In the final episode of the season, the trio will have one last shot at impressing Paul and Dame Prue with their tasty treats.
They’ll be tasked with putting together the perfect picnic for the signature, before going on to create a summer classic for the technical.
For the showstopper, the bakers will make a yummy creation which celebrates the planet.
Ahead of this week’s semi-final, Syabira reflected on her baking journey.
‘Looking back, I’m glad I did it and I am proud of what I have achieved so far,’ she penned. ‘No matter how hard life is, find an escape to keep your mind occupied, and for me, at that moment, is baking.
‘Back in the days of 2018, the only whisk that I have is from my hand blender. We all starts somewhere, and with experience we’ve learned, with dedication we strive!’
Elsewhere, Sandro offered thanks to his supporters after it was revealed he is among this yaer’s finalists.
‘Super sad, super happy, mixed feelings… definitely an emotional episode for me,’ he told viewers in a video shared on his Instagram Story.
