During his time on Strictly Come Dancing, Gregg Wallace acquired a rash, required treatment, and was in floods of tears.
In short, he didn’t have the finest time.
The MasterChef presenter, 58, appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 with professional dancer Aliona Vilani.
He was eliminated in the first round, but after only a few weeks of preparation and two live shows, he was in shambles.
‘I was having a really tough time [on Strictly] I was really, really stressed… so badly that the side of my face broke out into a rash, like cold sores,’ he revealed on The Mirror’s Men In Mind podcast.
Gregg’s anxiety got so bad the Strictly team recommended he get professional help.
‘I was due to do the dance that night and I called [The therapist] up and said, “Are you free? Can you come and help me?” She jumped in the car, came into my dressing room and had me in floods of tears. But I went out and danced,’ he continued.
Gregg recently informed supporters about his daily ritual, saying, “Good morning, from my office here in Kent.”
‘I’ve got a mug of coffee with me, I’m going to be off to the gym in about five minutes to get there for six o’clock.’
He went on: ‘I get up in the morning, straight in the shower, and then I check my texts, my emails, I check my Insta account – this is modern living, right.’
‘Then I go onto Google Alerts to see what Gregg Wallace stories may have happened overnight,’ he laughed.
‘This is part of modern life I think. I think we all probably do the same, I don’t know.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.20pm on BBC One.
