Eagle-eyed According to reports, Happy Valley fans were able to watch Episode 2 before it aired due to an Apple store malfunction.
The third and final series of Sally Wainwright’s multi-BAFTA award-winning drama returned on Sunday night, with Sarah Lancashire resuming her role as Sergeant Catherine Cawood.
The episode was hailed with immediate acclaim from viewers, who said that this year’s television had already peaked.
While many of us wait for the next episode to premiere on Sunday, January 8, a select few realised that it was now available for purchase on the Apple store.
Sharing their findings on Twitter, one user said: ‘Someone’s f*cked up! #happyvalley episode 2 is on iTunes!!!!’
In another post they continued: ‘Happy Valley Season 3 Episode 2 is on iTunes! I’m watching it now!! If you don’t wanna wait till next week buy it now b4 they realise & remove it from the store!’
Sharing their review of the upcoming scenes, one fan replied: ‘I just watched. What THE HELL. Incredible ep.’
A Reddit user also noticed the glitch and wrote: ‘I was able to purchase and watch episode two on Apple TV. Apple have since removed it this evening.’ (sic)
‘Well worth the £2.50,’ they added.
Every Sunday, the new series of Happy Valley airs on BBC One, and the following episode teases great drama.
‘Catherine learns of a painful betrayal close to home, and Faisal comes under increasing pressure from all sides,’ the official synopsis reads.
Season three, like season two, will include six episodes as the show comes to an end.
