Warning: spoilers ahead for Heartstopper season 2.
Now that the whole second season of Heartstopper has been available on Netflix, viewers will definitely be combing over each episode in search of minute clues that they may have missed the first time around.
So, anybody caught the appearance in episode 5, while the gang is enjoying their visit to the Louvre while on a school trip to Paris?
In a recent interview with the show’s creator, Alice Oseman, we asked if she makes any surprise cameos in the current episodes.
As fans will recall, Alice made a brief appearance on the train in the closing episode of season one, when Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) were on their way to the beach.
So, will the author return in the second installment of the live-action adaptation?
‘I’m not there, there is no Alice cameo in season two,’ Alice confirmed… although there is a sneaky cameo that viewers should keep their eyes peeled for.
‘There is an Euros cameo. Euros is our director, and he played the security guard in the Louvre, which is hilarious and made me very happy,’ the illustrator added.
Euros Lyn, a film and television filmmaker, directed every episode of Heartstopper throughout seasons one and two, and he is also an executive producer on the programme.
He makes an appearance in the second season at the Louvre, when Nick and Charlie are having a playful scuffle on the museum floor, after the latter can’t help but be smitten by the former’s ability to speak French almost perfectly.
‘No! ‘None of that here!’ the security guard exclaims, looking over a wall at the couple, who immediately flee.
Several Heartstopper fans said that they perfectly see why Nick’s French-speaking ability had Charlie swooning… particularly after the guy addresses his boyfriend as ‘Mon amour.’
‘Charlie growing insane over the fact that his hot bf speaks fluent French might be my favourite thing on earth,’ one person tweeted.
‘I was blushing too Charlie is ok,’ another remarked, while someone else wrote: ‘Not even kidding when I say I ran laps and fell to my knees in the kitchen when he said “mon amour”.’
‘This is one of my favourite things in season 2 so far, its so cute 🥰🌈,’ one fan admitted in response to the swoonworthy scene.
