Helen Flanagan and Dean Gaffney’s stint in the jungle ended on Wednesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity South Africa.
Tuesday’s programme included Carol Vorderman, Fatima Whitebread, Paul Burrell, Phil Tufnell, Jordan Banjo, Myleene Klass, Helena, and Dean in a nail-biting trial.
The eight celebrities were imprisoned in crates with their heads sticking out during the test. Before ringing a bell, they had to unravel a key from a tangle of wires and free the padlock that was holding them locked inside the container.
As the conflict progressed, numerous creepy crawlies were placed to the containers. Campmates were informed that the last two stars in their boxes would be departing camp permanently.
As the trial continued, soap stars Helen, 32, and Dean, 45, were the final two, implying that their time on the programme was coming to an end.
‘I’ve had the time of my life I have just had the best time I am so grateful. I knew I would be bad at the challenge,’ she told hosts Ant and Dec.

Dean added: ‘Hopefully I did better than last time. I am definitely going home heavier than I arrived with all the picnics that’s for sure! You know what I’m done I haven’t laughed that much in years.’
Viewers expressed their shock online, with one person writing: ‘Gutted that Helen’s left. She’s been brilliant this series.’
‘Not watching #ImACeleb tonight but I’ve just seen that Helen is gone and I’m absolutely devastated.Really wanted her to go all the way this time. Her confidence has come on leaps and bounds since she was last in the jungle 10 years ago.Well done Helen you superstar,’ another added.
This follows the departure of TV celebrity Joe Swash in yesterday’s broadcast.
Cricketer Phil and the former EastEnders actor were the final two people not chosen, which meant they had to face Temple of Doom.
The pair battled for survival, attempting to open four locks and deciphering symbols from the holes in the tomb’s top. Joe and Phil battled it out in a race against the time to escape first and save their position in camp; however, Joe faltered in the final few seconds and ultimately forfeited his place in the competition.
I’m A Celebrity…South Africa returns tonight at 9pm on ITV.
