Helen Skelton has admitted she was stunned to hear the reaction from fans over her sensational ‘revenge’ dance on Strictly Come Dancing.
Helen and partner Gorka Marquez left viewers with their jaws on the floor after an incredible cabaret performance, which was hailed as a ‘f**k you’ dance with some people comparing her outfit to Princess Diana’s famous ‘revenge dress’, following Helen’s tough split from ex-husband ex Richie Myler – who is reportedly expecting a baby with his new girlfriend.
The duo scored 39 points from the judges, with Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke all whacking out those 10 paddles, while Craig Revel Horwood gave them a nine.
Recalling the incredible performance, Helen told Metro.co.uk and other press: ‘That was a moment for us.’
She continued: ‘When everybody started screaming I was like, “Oh they’re liking this”,’ despite not expecting the reaction.
‘I’m not a performer, I’ve never had that, so it’s a weird thing for people to be going mad over something we’re doing.’

The Countryfile presenter, 39, also joked about how ahead of that performance, Gorka instructed her to ‘give it more’.
‘I’m like, “How can I give it more, I’m in a glittery bra and wig, what more is there to give?”‘ she said.
Despite their iconic number, the pair just missed out on a perfect score, but according to Helen, they’ve already had their win.
She told press: ‘I would love for us to get a 40,’ before adding: ‘I feel like we’ve had our 40.’

The former Blue Peter presenter continued: ‘I take on board what the judges say, I respect what they say, I have a lot of respect for all of them but actually, the thing for me that is a 40 is getting up to Claudia [Winkleman]’s area, Katya [Jones], Luba [Mushtuk], Karen [Hauer] all going crazy, that’s our 40, when [the other Strictly stars] say things, you’re like “Oh thank you,” and that reaction is worth 60, 70, 80 to me.’
Earlier this week, Helen explained that her theatric number had a mixed response from her family.
‘Well, my children said it was a bit weird for us and they were a little embarrassed but they were ok about it,’ she said on It Takes Two.
‘My parents absolutely loved it, I mean my mum was in the front row, she was just going mad wasn’t she?’
Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7.05pm on Saturday, December 17th on BBC One.
