This Morning viewers were perplexed after Holly Willoughby was replaced on Thursday’s show with Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond.
Holly, 42, hosts the ITV daytime show Mondays through Thursdays, and has been joined by Josie, Alison, and Dermot O’Leary since Phillip Schofield‘s departure earlier this year.
After confessing to having a ‘unwise but not criminal’ romance with a younger male former colleague, the former This Morning host, 61, resigned from ITV in full.
Holly then addressed his departure, claiming she was “shaken, troubled, let down,” and “full of questions,” before returning to her normal schedule of presenting with a variety of different presenters.
However, she was absent on Thursday’s show, with Josie kicking things off and saying: ‘Look who’s joined me. It’s only the one and only Alison Hammond!’
Alison quipped back: ‘Oh, Josie! I hope you don’t mind, I got a bit jealous.
‘I saw you and Holly and you were talking about being blonde and I thought I’m going to shake this up a bit. I’m getting in there.’
The duo then laughed as they questioned Sir Chris Whitty about an appearance on Naked Attraction, while also criticising Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s new guidelines.
Fans at home, on the other hand, are left wondering where Holly is.
‘Just tuned in, is Holly ill or just ‘off’?’ one questioned.
‘Where’s Holly I missed the beginning,’ another said.
‘Holly having a day off!!’ someone else penned, while another questioned: ‘Not even a mention of why she’s not on today?!’
Holly recently expressed her sadness over a family tragedy.
Holly’s sister Kelly took to Instagram to grieve her uncle Ray’s death, thanking him for ‘all the love and fun.’
Holly added a devastated emoji beneath her sibling’s post.
Holly’s older sister Kelly, 43, wrote in full: ‘Sleep deep Uncle Ray. We are heartbroken to say goodbye so soon. Thank you for all the love and the laughs.
‘The kids will forever remember you turning up, taking your hat off and watching with glee as packets of Haribo dropped to the floor. We will miss you so much.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
