Holly Willoughby, anchor of This Morning, has provided an update following her forced absence from the programme this week due to illness.
Holly, 42, disclosed earlier this week that she had had shingles and had to miss the entire week of the ITV daytime show.
Following her diagnosis, she informed her fans last weekend that she’may be absent’ from the programme for a time, adding that she would ‘be back as soon as I’m healthier’.
She has now disclosed that she is recovering and that she was able to go outside for some fresh air.
‘And I’m out of the house… the birds are putting on quite the show today… spring sounds beautiful,’ she posted on Instagram on Saturday morning, alongside a photo of her Golden Retriever Bailey.

Many well-wishers responded to her message with encouragement, sending their love and wishes for a quick recovery.
‘Shingles is awful. Hope you are ok,’ one person posted.
‘Glad you are feeling better,’ someone else wrote.
Another added: ‘Glad you’re feeling better! I had shingles not so long ago and it was not nice at all. Took me a little bit of time to build up my strength.’

The mother-of-three said on Instagram Stories on Friday that she was “feeling so much better” and that Dermot O’Leary, 49, another host of This Morning, had delivered her a Reuben sandwich and soup.
Sharing a picture of the meal, she wrote: ‘Thank you Dermot O’Leary for the sweetest delivery of chicken soup and salt beef… just what I needed.’
‘Feeling so much better. Thank you all for your well wishes.’
Rochelle Humes, 34, who performs with The Saturdays and hosts the Hit List, has stepped in for Holly this week, presenting from Monday through Thursday.
After taking a break for the Easter break and his brother Timothy Schofield’s trial, Phil returned to This Morning on Monday, telling viewers it was “lovely to be back.”
At Exeter Crown Court, his sibling was recently convicted guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over a three-year period. He was accused of 11 sexual crimes against children between October 2016 and October 2019—two of which involved sexual activity with a child.
Phil made a statement after the guilty conviction in which he claimed he ‘no longer’ had a sibling.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
What is shingles?
Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash.
The first signs of shingles can be a tingling or painful feeling in an area of skin or a headache or feeling generally unwell.
A rash will appear a few days later.
You might need medicine to help speed up your recovery and avoid longer-lasting problems.
Get advice from 111 as soon as possible if you think you have it.
It can take up to 4 weeks for the rash to heal.
