The return date of Dancing On Ice, as well as Holly Willoughby‘s comeback to the ITV series, has been set for 2024.
Despite leaving This Morning, it was recently reported that the TV presenter would return as one of the hosts of the ice skating tournament.
The network has already revealed that the new series will premiere on Sunday, January 14, with superstars like as Ryan Thomas, Adele Roberts, Greg Rutherford, and Amber Davies making their first appearances on the ice.
Holly, 42, formerly co-hosted Dancing On Ice alongside Phillip Schofield, 61, with whom she also collaborated on the daytime show This Morning.
Catch presenter Stephen Mulhern will take Phillip’s position after he quit from ITV with ‘immediate effect’.
His resignation from Dancing On Ice occurred after he acknowledged on This Morning to lying about an affair he had with a runner.
He said that he would be ‘resigning from ITV with immediate effect’, while he expressed his ‘immense gratitude to them for all the amazing opportunities that they have given me’.
In addition to Holly’s return to Dancing On Ice, the show will include judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo, and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse.
Speaking of her new presenting partnership with Stephen, which comes 20 years after they worked together on Ministry of Mayhem, ITV’s head of entertainment commissioning Katie Rawcliffe said: ‘Holly and Stephen are two of our best loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing On Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show.’
A source previously told MailOnline: ‘Holly is a star and everyone was so very much hoping that she would decide to come back.
‘After many discussions and a lot of thought, she thought that getting some normality into her life would be a good thing.’
In October last year, Holly confirmed that she would be stepping down from her role on This Morning.
In her statement, she said: ‘I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.
‘To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.
‘Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the best company every day.
‘Richard and Judy said, “We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers”. It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now I feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.
‘I will miss you all so much.’
Dancing On Ice 2024 is set to launch on Sunday January 14 at 6.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
