Many a TV show and film are binge-watched while lazing at home between Christmas and New Year’s, with this year’s choices including Treason, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Emily In Paris.
Today, ITVX launches a brand new reality programme on the streaming platform called Loaded in Paradise, in which a group of teams jet around Greece’s Aegean Islands in a challenge designed to test their cunning as well as their resolve.
So, how does the show function? Here’s what you should know.
How does ITVX’s new reality series Loaded in Paradise work?
In Loaded in Paradise, five sets of duos go up against each other with one aim – to get their hands on the coveted Gold Card.
It just so happens that all of the participants of the programme love living lives of luxury, and so trying to gain control of the Gold Card is that much more desirable to them, as without it, they’re tasked with living on far smaller budgets.
They have a whopping 50,000 euros at their disposal thanks to the Gold Card.
Only one pair can be in charge of the Gold Card at any given time, allowing them to spend the money on whatever luxury they like.
This can range from luxury dinners to outings out on lavish yachts or ocean jet skiing.
However, they can’t just spend whatever they want without consequences, as the other duos will be hard on their chase at all times.
In case you were wondering, the contenders do have the opportunity to meet their other competitors on neutral ground.
On the show, there is a Safehouse that is open to all at the end of each chase, where they may gather, discuss, and figure out who the competition is.
Several of the candidates intend to deceive the other series stars and conceal their game-playing techniques.
However, some people are expecting to find holiday romances, so viewers will have to wait and see how it affects how the trip unfolds.
The existence of a main reward at the end of the tunnel has been kept under wraps by ITV, and will be revealed once people tune in to watch the event.
We do know that there will be a “major twist” during the final pursuit, as each of the couples goes after the Gold Card for the final time.
