Hannah Spearritt is the most recent celebrity to be announced for the forthcoming season of Dancing on Ice.
Richard Arnold of Good Morning Britain stated today that the S Club 7 star will be trading in his microphone for skating skates.
This is her third registration for the “Greatest Show on Ice.”
The first celebrity, boxing superstar Ricky Hatton, was announced earlier this week.
Following that, anchors Holly Willoughby and Ben Shephard added another individual to the roster for Wednesday’s programme of This Morning.
They enthusiastically informed viewers that Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney will be taking part in the series, which challenges celebrities to master ice skating and dazzle judges – including Olympians Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – and spectators alike with entertaining routines.
Hannah, 42, told GMB that she was thrilled to be taking part and couldn’t wait to start preparations.
‘I’m really excited about learning a new skill,’ she began.
‘It’s so easy to live your comfortable life and that aspect of mixing things up is very appealing. Fitness is another reason why I’m doing it! It’s really exciting.’
She will be following in the footsteps of former bandmate Rachael Stevens, who took part in the ITV programme last year and was removed as the third person.
Hannah’s involvement on the reality programme follows her decision to withdraw from the impending S Club reunion tour.
The Don’t Stop Movin’ band is reuniting to commemorate its 25th anniversary, and all seven members – Hannah, Rachel, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, and Tina Barrett – were initially scheduled to attend.
However, following the death of band member Cattermole, it was stated that Hannah, who was also his ex-girlfriend, would not be joining the tour.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV. Dancing on Ice will return to ITV in 2024.
